Find acoustic, electric and bass guitars advertised for sale across Thailand, from beginner instruments to higher-value professional models. Compare the exact model, construction, hardware, pickups and any modifications rather than judging the instrument only by brand. Check that the neck is reasonably straight, the truss rod functions, frets are not excessively worn and the action can be set appropriately. Look for cracks, structural repairs or lifting bridges on acoustic instruments, and test switches, pots, output sockets and pickups on electric guitars and basses. Thailand’s humidity can affect wooden instruments, so storage history and neck stability are worth considering. Where possible, play the guitar through an appropriate amplifier and check its setup before buying.
