FarangMart is a Thailand classifieds marketplace. FarangMart acts as the data controller for the processing described in this Privacy Policy. The policy applies to marketplace users, visitors, advertisers and public business prospects whose information is processed in connection with FarangMart.
Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through the FarangMart website and the marketplace activities, services, features, communications and resources made available through it.
People may browse advertisements, register an account, publish listings, purchase optional services, contact other marketplace users or communicate with FarangMart. FarangMart may also identify publicly available business information when inviting suitable businesses to register or advertise on the marketplace.
Information you provide
FarangMart may collect personal information when you create an account, publish or respond to a listing, complete a form, make an enquiry, purchase a service, contact support or otherwise interact with the marketplace.
Depending on the activity, this information may include:
- Account information. Your name, email address, telephone number, username, account preferences and verification information.
- Listing information. Advertisement descriptions, photographs, prices, categories, locations and other information you choose to publish.
- Communication information. Enquiries, support requests, replies and other correspondence sent through or to FarangMart.
- Transaction information. Information needed to process optional paid services, promotions or advertising purchases.
- Business information. Company, trading, professional or commercial details supplied when advertising or operating as a business seller.
Public areas of FarangMart can generally be browsed without creating an account. Refusing to provide required information may prevent access to features that depend on that information.
Public business prospect information
FarangMart may process publicly available information about businesses that could reasonably benefit from joining or advertising through the marketplace.
This information may include:
- A business or trading name.
- A publicly displayed business email address or telephone number.
- The business website and the page on which the contact information was published.
- Public information describing the business industry, services and location.
- Evidence showing where the information was found and why the business may be relevant to FarangMart.
- Outreach status, delivery events, replies, registration status and suppression history.
FarangMart does not intentionally guess undisclosed email addresses. Its prospect system is designed to prefer general business contact addresses that have been published for business contact purposes.
Public business information remains subject to this Privacy Policy even when it was originally made available on another website.
Technical and usage information
FarangMart may collect technical information when a person or device interacts with the Site. This can include browser type, device type, operating system, internet connection information, IP address, referring page, pages viewed and approximate request times.
This information may be used to operate the Site, maintain security, diagnose faults, understand performance and improve the marketplace experience.
Sources of business information
Public business information may be identified through publicly accessible business websites and through website links published in OpenStreetMap data.
FarangMart’s prospect system is designed to visit an identified business website and a limited number of relevant pages on the same business domain, such as contact or about pages. It does not intentionally crawl unrelated websites through external links.
- Website crawling is limited and subject to technical safeguards.
- Robots.txt instructions are respected when that control is enabled.
- Social-network profiles and unsuitable directory pages are excluded as prospect sources.
- Duplicate business domains and email addresses are detected.
- Potential prospects are scored and presented for administrator review.
- No registration outreach is scheduled until an administrator expressly approves the prospect.
OpenStreetMap data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database Licence. More information is available from OpenStreetMap copyright and licence information.
How information is used
FarangMart may use information for purposes including:
- Providing marketplace services. Operating accounts, listings, enquiries, advertising and optional paid features.
- Customer service. Responding to questions, requests, disputes and support needs.
- Safety and security. Preventing abuse, spam, fraud, unauthorised access and other harmful activity.
- Site improvement. Understanding how services are used and improving functionality, accessibility and performance.
- Transactions. Processing orders, payments or service requests and maintaining appropriate records.
- Service communications. Sending account, listing, enquiry, security or transaction-related information.
- Business development. Identifying relevant public businesses and inviting them to register or advertise through FarangMart.
- Compliance. Meeting legal obligations, protecting legal rights and responding to valid regulatory or law-enforcement requests.
Legal bases for processing
The legal basis used depends on the information, the relationship involved and the purpose of processing.
- Contract or requested steps. Processing may be necessary to create an account, publish a listing, provide a purchased service or respond to a request.
- Consent. Consent may be requested where required and can be withdrawn for future processing.
- Legal obligations. Some information may be processed or retained to comply with applicable law.
- Legitimate interests. FarangMart may process information where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve and promote the marketplace, provided those interests are not overridden by the rights and interests of the affected person.
The legitimate interests relied upon for controlled business outreach include introducing relevant publicly identified businesses to FarangMart, developing the marketplace and preventing repeated or unwanted contact.
Controlled business outreach
A publicly identified business is not automatically emailed. A FarangMart administrator must review the prospect and expressly approve it before the registration-outreach sequence can begin.
An approved sequence consists of an initial invitation and no more than two follow-up messages. Every outreach email identifies FarangMart, explains that the address was found publicly, provides privacy information and includes an unsubscribe link.
Remaining outreach is stopped when FarangMart records:
- A registration using the same email address.
- A genuine reply from the recipient.
- An unsubscribe request or direct-marketing objection.
- A complaint.
- A hard delivery failure.
- Three recorded soft delivery failures.
A minimal suppression record may be retained after outreach stops so FarangMart can honour the request or delivery status and avoid contacting the same address again.
You may object to FarangMart business outreach at any time. Use the unsubscribe link in the message or contact webmaster@farangmart.co.th. Relevant direct marketing will stop when the request is processed.
Automated assistance and human review
FarangMart may use automated tools to discover public website sources, identify published business contact information, remove duplicates, classify a business by industry or location and calculate a relevance score.
These tools support internal review. They do not independently approve a business for outreach. A FarangMart administrator reviews the available evidence before changing a prospect to approved status.
FarangMart does not use the prospect system to make legal, credit, employment or similarly significant decisions about individuals.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
FarangMart may use cookies or similar technologies to support Site functionality, security, preferences, analytics and advertising.
Browser settings can normally be used to refuse or remove cookies. Disabling some cookies may cause parts of the Site to work differently or become unavailable.
Advertising providers may use cookies or related technologies to measure advertising activity or provide advertisements they consider more relevant. Cookies placed directly by third-party advertising services are governed by those providers’ policies.
Some advertising may be provided by Google. Information about Google’s advertising technologies and available choices can be found through Google’s advertising and privacy information.
Sharing information
FarangMart does not sell or rent personal identification information.
Information may be shared with service providers where reasonably necessary to operate FarangMart. These can include website hosting, email delivery, security, analytics, payment and technical-support providers.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law, in response to a valid legal request, to investigate harmful or unlawful activity, or to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
Aggregated information that does not identify a person may be used or shared for marketplace, statistical, research or advertising purposes.
Some providers may process information outside Thailand. Where this occurs, FarangMart will take reasonable steps to use providers and safeguards appropriate to the information and applicable legal requirements.
Data retention
FarangMart retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate the marketplace, resolve disputes, maintain security, meet legal obligations and protect legitimate interests.
Public business prospect records and associated outreach or delivery-event records are retained for up to 730 days from the most recent relevant activity. Source, discovery and processing audit records may also be retained for up to 730 days.
Eligible expired records are removed through a controlled, batched retention process. Records connected to recent activity or currently scheduled outreach are not treated as expired.
Minimal suppression records may be retained for longer where necessary to honour unsubscribes, direct-marketing objections, complaints, delivery failures or registration status and to prevent further unwanted contact.
Information may be retained for a longer period where required by law, reasonably necessary for an active dispute or security investigation, or needed to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
How information is protected
FarangMart uses appropriate administrative, technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, misuse, loss or destruction.
Measures may include access controls, encrypted connections, account security controls, limited administrator access, system monitoring, backups and controlled retention procedures.
Credentials used to access the dedicated outreach mailbox are held in protected server configuration and are not displayed or stored in the ordinary WordPress settings database.
No website, storage system or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should protect their own account credentials, email accounts and devices.
Your rights and choices
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including the right to:
- Ask whether FarangMart processes information about you.
- Request access to or a copy of applicable personal information.
- Ask for inaccurate or incomplete information to be corrected.
- Request deletion where there is no lawful reason to continue processing.

FarangMart may need to verify the identity or authority of a requester before providing information or acting on a request. Some rights are subject to legal limitations and exceptions.

Children’s information
FarangMart is a general classifieds marketplace and is not intentionally directed at young children. Children should not submit personal information or create an account without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian where required.
A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted personal information inappropriately can contact FarangMart to request review and appropriate action.
Third-party websites and marketplace users
FarangMart may contain advertisements, listings or links leading to websites and services operated by sellers, advertisers, partners or other third parties.
FarangMart does not control the privacy, security, content or customer-service practices of independent third-party websites. Visiting another website is subject to that provider’s own policies and terms.
Marketplace users should exercise care before sharing information with another user or completing a transaction outside FarangMart.

FarangMart may update this Privacy Policy when services, processing activities, technologies or legal requirements change.
The current revision date will be displayed at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the Site or by another appropriate method.
Users are encouraged to review this page periodically to remain informed about how FarangMart handles information.
